Anxiety expresses itself in a number of ways. Some people feel panicked and short of breath. Others can’t sleep or get terrible stomach aches. At some point, they’ve all felt a sense of overwhelming pressure or tension that prevents them from enjoying life to the fullest. If it is for a long amount of time or expresses itself with intensity, it is often a generalized anxiety disorder.

How we each manage anxiety is up to us, but many people want natural ways that don’t require prescription medicine. Along with life changes like reducing stress, talking to a therapist or reciting mantras, some choose to use essential oils for anxiety.

Finding the right essential oils for anxiety

When you’re trying to conquer your anxiety, you’ll want to find essential oils that help with your worst symptoms. Many essential oils include blends of several different terpenes mixed with a carrier oil. You should make sure that the carrier oil in your essential is high quality and doesn’t cause any allergic reactions. Once you’ve found that, look for blends with some of these relaxing profiles that will help you soothe your nerves.

Citrus Fruits - Lemons, oranges and limes contain limonene, which helps with anxiety and depression. The bright scents lift your mood almost instantly.
Clove - Essential oils with clove contain the terpene b-caryophyllene. This terpene helps defend against insomnia and anxiety with its spicy aromatics.
Rosemary - Rosemary contains pinene, known for providing the body with energy and focus. If you’re feeling panicky, pinene also helps ease asthma so it may help you breathe a little easier.
Geranium - More than just pretty blossoms, geraniums contain myrcene – a powerhouse terpene. Myrcene supports sleep and helps reduce muscle tension so you can start feeling more relaxed.
Lavender - Lavender has linalool, a terpene that helps ease anxiety. It’s stress relieving properties make it a great aid when you’re ready to unwind and release your worries.

The perfect blend

Finding your favorite essential oil blend is all about trial and error. You should make sure that you get a blend that targets your anxiety symptoms and that you’re practicing effective strategies to relax.

Now, you can find your perfect essential oil for anxiety relief. Remember to keep calm and don’t forget to breathe!

These guys are top notch across the board. I've been to other places and they PALE in comparison. Their products are the only ones that have helped with my chronic pain disorders and mental disorders. Their customer service is like THE BEST, for real!!! They greet me by name and the vibe is great! It always makes me in a better mood just walking through the door. They always have sanitizer in the dispenser too. Oh!!!
